Inquiry-Based Learning
We have been learning all about mini-beasts recently through inquiry-based learning. We went on a mini-beast hunt to investigate our inquiry question "Where do mini-beasts live?"

Butterflies
There has been great excitement in Room 14 over the last few weeks as we watched our very own caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies. We loved learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and observing each stage of its amazing transformation, bringing our lessons to life!
Active School Week!
We had a wonderful week celebrating Active School Week. The children were outside in the sunshine everyday taking part in lots of activities including; athletics, bouncy castles, GAA with Garry, novelty races, dancing and walking down to St Anne's for soccer skills with Raheny United. We had great fun being active in the lovely weather!
Outdoor Learning
This week we took our learning outdoors to enjoy the lovely sunny weather! After our recent investigation of what plants need to grow, we planted our own Sunflowers in the new garden. The children completed their hand writing outside in the sunshine and we had lots of fun with the parachute.
Easter Fun!
We spent lots of time outside this week preparing for Easter. The children showed amazing teamwork as they completed an orienteering challenge in the yard. We also had great fun doing an Easter egg hunt and painting colourful Easter bunnies!
Lá Glas
World Book Day!
The children really enjoyed a visit from the lovely 6th Class girls in Scoil Áine who came to read stories for them.
We also had DEAR time and discussed our favourite books!
Reading Buddies
We buddied up with the Junior Infants in Room 5 for some reading!
The children had a lovely afternoon sharing stories with their buddies, building friendships and growing confidence.
Grandparents Day
We had a very special day in our classroom celebrating Grandparents Day. The children were delighted to welcome their grandparents in to see their classroom and spend time together. There were lots of smiles, chatting, and happy moments shared as we enjoyed this lovely visit. Thank you to all the grandparents who joined us and helped make the day so memorable!
Christmas in Room 14
We have had a very busy month in Room 14. The children have been preparing for their Christmas show, Born in a Barn, and all of their hard work paid off as they delivered fantastic performances! We have also enjoyed lots of Christmas art and festive activities. The class were very excited to receive a special visit from Santa! It has been a fun-filled and festive month for everyone in Room 14!

Maths Week
We had great fun celebrating Maths week! We explored shapes, numbers and patterns through lots of different games and activities. We love Maths in Room 14!
Room 14 fun!
We had a wonderful time on our nature walk as part of our Inquiry Based Learning about Autumn in SEE. We went exploring to find colourful leaves and used our senses to notice the changes happening in nature during this season. The children helped to sweep up the leaves in the First Class yard. We have had lots of fun building, playing games and doing yoga recently!
Friendship Week
We had a wonderful week celebrating Friendship Week in Room 14! The children were busy spreading kindness, showing teamwork and playing cooperatively.
We created special Friendship Recipes, made friendship bracelets, and even enjoyed a lovely visit from our friends in Room 15 who came to play!
