Active School Week 2026
Active School Week was a week filled with laughter, energy and teamwork. This unforgettable experience was made possible by the incredible generosity and spirit of our local sports groups who stepped up to share their expertise and passion. We are deeply grateful for the contributions, which provided the children with not just high-quality coaching, but a true sense of community belonging. Many thanks to Richie from Raheny Shamrocks, the coaches from Raheny United, Gary from Raheny GAA and Mairéad from Dance AMAD for making is all possible.

Christmas in Naíscoil íde
Christmas Time is always a very special time in Naíscoil íde, and this year was no different. The angelic Junior Infants sang their hearts out at their annual Christmas concert and there were also Christmas plays happening throughout the school. The Christmas artwork shone throughout the school and Santa Claus himself was delighted with it all when he came to visit. Many thanks to Graeme, Madeline and our PA for all their work behind the scenes, to make Christmas in NSI such a magical time.
Dublin City Neighbourhood Schools' Awards
Following on from our win in June, where we won the best school in Dublin North Central for our work on sustainability, we were thrilled to be invited by DCC to take part in the finals of the City Neighbourhood Schools Competition for all the winning schools in the Dublin areas. We were delighted to be awarded a Special Merit in this prestigious competition.

Welcome Back Everyone!
There was great excitement on Thursday morning when all the children returned to school after their Summer break. We were delighted to welcome 4 new classes of Junior Infants and to open The Nest! Be sure and check out the photos below to see some of the improvements that have been happening over the past few weeks! Many thanks to our wonderful Parents' Association for organising a wonderful coffee morning in the CARA Hall to welcome all the new parents. More photos to follow!
The whole school community was extra busy this year making the grounds as attractive as possible for everyone to enjoy. The children learned about the importance of caring for our environment and how we all play a part in ensuring that our school grounds provide inviting habitats for bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators.
A special thanks to the Parents' Association, Graeme, Anne and all the children who worked so hard throughout the year to create pollinator-friendly habitats.
We were visited by members of DCC who were really impressed with the knowledge of our young students and how the whole school community work to support biodiversity and raise awareness. Mrs Mescal was so proud of the children's efforts and knowledge of those who met with the DCC. They were delighted when she presented them all with an extra special prize today.
We were so delighted when DCC announced us as the winning school in July! Well done to all involved!
