Easter Egg Hunt 7/4/17
On the day of the Easter holidays we found an unusual egg in our classroom! Hiding inside the egg was a clue. We set off on an adventure around the school to solve the mystery. We soon realised that we were on an Easter egg hunt! There were lots of signs around the school to help us along the way. We found lots of eggs and inside the eggs were a variety of tricky clues for us to solve. The clues brought us all over the school and we even needed to go outside for some of them. It was very exciting! The final clue brought us back to Room 9 where a special treat was waiting for us!

Zoo Outreach Presentation - Room 7 - Ms. McIlvenna 30/11/16
The children in room 7 had an incredibly exciting day when Marina from Dublin zoo came to visit. We learnt all about how to identify the members of the Big Cat families. We were lucky enough to touch a tiger's pelt, and reproductions of the jaws of a tiger and a snow leopard! We also got to see an elephant's foot and identity the difference between an African & Asian elephant. Thanks Marina for a wonderful presentation and to Hannah's mum Louise who put us in touch with Marina.
Design a Bridge - Room 8 - Ms. McCay 16/11/16
For Science Week, we decided to design a bridge and explore how to make it stronger. We worked in small groups and tested the strength of four different types of paper bridge- a beam bridge, a walled bridge, an arch bridge and a corrugated bridge. For fair testing, we used the same width of river, an A4 sheet lengthways. We reviewed our results and were amazed to discover how changing the shape of the bridge made a big difference to the weight it could support.
Aistear Our Home - Room 10 - Ms. McGinn 13/10/16
We love Aistear in Room 10. Our theme for September was 'Our Home' . We had great fun. We played in the role play area, made pretend food out of play dough, designed and built houses with the jaggo blocks and played with the dolls house and small world toys.
A Special Visit from the Minister - Room 9 - Ms. Kingston 5/9/16
The Minister for Education came to visit our school on Friday 2nd of September. We were very excited to be picked to greet such a special visitor. We made a welcome sign and said the rhyme 'Dhá Éinín Bheaga' for him.
