Easter Newsletter 20/3/18
![]() Another school term is coming to an end and as always it has been a busy one. The school closes on Friday, 23rd March at 12.00 for the Easter holidays and will re-open on Monday, 9th April. As the three Raheny schools will be closing at 12.00 on Friday there will be extra traffic and people in the area at this time. Please be extra careful in the vicinity of the school and observe the road markings and signs. Remember our pupils are very young and you may not be able to see them as you pull out or reverse. Your co-operation is also requested in complying with the voluntary one-way system in operation at school opening and closing times. This is available to view on the noticeboards in each yard. In the interest of everyone's safety we implore parents/guardians to comply with these requests.
Child Safeguarding Statement
There are new Child Protection Procedures now in place for all primary & post primary schools. These new procedures give direction and guidance to schools authorities and to school personnel in relation to meeting their new statutory obligations under the Children First Act, 2015 and in the continued implementation of the best practice guidance set out in Children First National Guidance 2017. Our Board of Management has ratified our new Child Safeguarding Statement. This includes a risk assessment on the possible risks of harm to children in school. This statement is available on our website www.naiscoilide.ie ![]() Yard
Work is due to start on the first class yard this Friday. The works are due to be completed in three to four weeks. This will mean disruption for the two weeks after we return from the Easter holidays. No pain, no gain! As the entrance at the back of the school will be out of use for the duration of the works, First class children are requested to assemble in the Junior Infant yard where they will be accompanied to their classes by their teachers at 9 o’clock. As this yard will have extra pupils, please exercise caution and do not allow your children to run. Many thanks for your understanding and co-operation. ![]() Art Exhibition
Our annual art exhibition takes place on Thursday night in the school hall. It is always a very uplifting evening with the joy and innocence of the children visible in their unique artwork. The Art will be on view from 5.30 – 7.30. Many thanks to the Parent's Association and Ms. Moloney for organising it all. ![]() Trócaire Boxes
Please return the Trócaire Boxes to the school before this Friday. Thank you. |
![]() First Class Graduation
First class graduation ceremony will take place on Friday 22nd June. Further details will follow closer to the date. ![]() Sponsored Walk
Our annual Sponsored Walk will take place this Thursday 22nd March. Sponsorship cards will go out this week. Many thanks for your support, as always. ![]() Digital School
We have been continuing to develop our IT strategy with the help of Department grants and Parents Association fundraising. Twenty-eight new ipads have been purchased with four classes benefiting from access to 7 iPads in their classroom all day every day, to embed IT as part of teaching and learning. We hope to have each classroom kitted out with new iPads as funds allow. Health and Safety
To ensure the safety of your child, Allianz Insurance has recommended that we make you aware of the following. The official opening time of the school is 9.00. No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving before this time. Please do not leave children unattended in the yard before this time as they would be unsupervised. Pupils who arrive at the school before 9 o’clock must be supervised by parents or guardians. At 9 o’clock and again at 1.40 it is very important that parents remain back from the exit doors to ensure pupils can safely enter and leave the school. For safety purposes please emphasise to your child that she/he must wait with the teacher until collected by parent/minder. Parents’ Association
We are very lucky to have an exceptional Parents’ Association who work together to help provide you and your child with additional memorable experiences throughout each school year. The Art Exhibition and an Owl Education Programme are their projects this term. Many thanks to all who give of their time and expertise. ![]() Website
