Green Flag

Picture
We in Naiscoil Ide are delighted to be working towards our 7th Green Flag.
We are busy in school finding ways to save energy...

Our Green School's Committee

Our Green Code:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
We're saving energy
Why don't you?!

Our Green School's committee is made up of two children from each class.
The committee work hard to spread the word about saving energy.
We can save energy in school by:
  • turning off the lights when it's bright,
  • turning off laptops and computers when not in use,
  • Close the doors at yard times to prevent heat loss,
  • Only charging iPads when necessary,
  • Only turning on the immersion when needed,
  • Using reusable lunch boxes and bottles,
  • Recycling our paper waste and bringing our fruit waste home for composting
  • and of course walking to school is fun, healthy and a great way to save energy!

Check out www.seai.ie for ways you can save energy at home!
